Leveling up will remain relatively the same, just keep doing what you're doing with magic, and with the new thing implemented where anything involving magic constitutes a contribution to a level (as long as the magic is constant throughout the thread, more than one post, so to speak) you'll have more free reign. That being said, we haven't gaged just how hard it would be to level up, but it should be a lot easier than what we currently have. We'll only be able to truly fine tune all these questions with a trial run.

Leveling won't be hard. As long as you are using magic i n your threads the thread counts towards a boost. If you have a single thread where you use multiple runes it can count for each one as well. :)
Honestly, I can get behind this idea now. I mean, it'll be a bit of a change for people who have been used to what we have been doing for long, long time now but it can definitely be a good change. I mean, people have already been writing different ways and coming up with creative uses for the powers we have now anyways. This will just condense things visually and if it's going to be how the staff are describing it then it can definitely become more fair to newcomers and still be good for those who are already established. If we do something with runes, however, I think that actually would be pretty fantastic. Especially if there will be some sort of mini plot or origin story behind it. Because with things being condensed under elements/runes/whatever it turns out to be, it might get kind of hairy with some people not being able to use some of the powers they were used to using if they have to pick a certain amount of elements. As in, the powers their used to using might not fit under the so many elements they're allowed to transfer over. If that makes sense? So it would be nice if there was some sort of explanation for why the powers are suddenly dulled or whatever until they can work on leveling that back up to where it was before.
Like Isilzheha, for instance. He typically uses his Bone Modification, fire, and Enigma powers overall out of most of the things he has. (Which if I'm understanding correctly/interpreting correctly this would be Dark, Mind, and Fire unless Enigma would be more of a Mind type thing) I can do without some of the others because I don't really use them. Though I've used his Earth Element quite a bit also in tandem with his other things as well, so if I choose whatever element/rune that he uses most he wouldn't be able to use that as strongly anymore since we're sort of leveling down whatever doesn't translate over. Hopefully I'm explaining this right LOL it sounds better in my head. I guess what I mean is, and you guys are probably already chatting about it and getting ideas going like you said, is that it would be nice to have some IC explanation for why the OP characters aren't 100% OP like they used to be and what people are used to playing as, for the most part. This is doubly so for those who are Founders or were on Elite status if they would have one element or two they're allowed to cap more than Master levels. RAMBLING AGAIN but yeah just a thought because there might be some inconsistency issues coupled with the apprehension of switching to something new entirely with the powers and leveling. Otherwise, I think once things get laid out and smoothed over idea wise this could work pretty well, especially since it does open things up for better interpretation and creativity. I love visuals personally, and the pixels are pretty, but they aren't really a dealbreaker for me. Plus there are plenty of other ways to create badges/pixels/whatever for other ideas like magic events or awards orrrrr whaaaaatever to pretty up the space in the profiles if that's what people are also worried about.
