Lunar Mountains
|
Towards the west of Victus lays the mountain range. Dark rising forms that reach high into the sky, some say it once led the wolves to the moon where the Lux species is said to descend from. The highest reaches of the mountains are always capped in pure white snow, though it is dotted occasionally with the strong growth of evergreen trees. Small pathways have been made up the main mountain for those that know how to get there. This place is high above the valley, giving a great view to the lands below it.

Lazuli Falls
|
From the tops of the Lunar Mountains, the melt has produced a swiftly flowing waterfall, moving between the cracks of the mountain, it falls for almost one hundred feet, and spreads out into a wide collected lake, small streams flicked off into various fading ends, and one quick moving river that flows towards the south, and eventually feed into the swamp terrains. Surrounding the river is a simple valley, it is mostly covered in snow, but in the warmer seasons it does gain a thick growth of grass and other plants. The trees too are a mix of pine trees and more warmer seasoned fruit trees.

Hunter's Valley
|
Moving down between the large peaks of the Lunar Mountains, a large valley has formed and taken root in the cold and frostbitten lands. The grass grows thick and the evergreens have made their own take in the rich soil. Fed by the rains and the bit of ice melt from the mountains, a large pond hovers on the lowest edges of the valley, making their way down through the unseen crack of the mountain. The pond has gained its share of life, with small fish and other small aquatic hunters making their homes along its borders, or in the mud on the banks. It’s a valuable hunting ground for the pack, as it tends to attract many herds such a reindeer, and moose.

Hallowed Den
|
Placed in Hunter’s Valley, enclosed and guarded by the thickest patch of evergreen trees and covered in the thick vines that grow up the mountain wall, a small entrance can be found into the mountain. It is not an easy tunnel to get through, but once the wolf has managed to work their way through, it opens up into a large and hollowed out den. To look around shows individual tunnels that lead down into small mated pairs, or private sleeping places. The center is a common meeting place for the wolves, and a good shelter against the storms and blizzards that can threaten to trap them in. Some question the safety of this place, but it has always been a haven to those in need.

Lazy River
|
The river from Lazuli falls stretches far across the open terrain, and makes a curve around Victus. It has helped to feed the swamp, and has started the growth of a young forest, with new small and thin trees. The grass is still very tall, nearly enough to hide a wolf at full height. The river is very shallow and slow moving through the meadow and woodlands, and only about fourteen feet at its widest. The shallow clear water makes it very easy fishing for the wolves, and a great place to teach pups to swim, with the threat of drowning is greatly reduced. It is common to see many creatures wondering here to get a drink.

Vermillion Thicket
|
An odd border terrain has formed around Sequoia Woods, the thick growth of thorns and bushes make it nearly impossible to move through them, some of the thorns growing up in lengths of ten inches or more. The shrubs are a vibrant red color, which has given this small area its name. To those that can find the entrance, a small tunnel has been dug underneath, free flowing springs moving beneath it. Small side tunnels can be found once beneath the thicket’s roots, where collected glowing green water has gathered, an odd effect of the light shining through the brambles above.

Dragon Volcano
|
South of the Lunar Mountains, rising high up from the earth a massive volcano has formed. Occasionally, thick black smog can be seen rising from its opening, and lava spilling down its sides in slow streams. Its a very dangerous place, and not a common place to find wolves wondering. The place has many legends and holds a dark past. The base of the volcano has a small opening, a den inside that is almost painful to be in due to the severely hot temperatures. Dark magic is said to have taken its home inside here. Stories of Atrox's ancestors are said to have been born here. Despite the stories, the place gives a very scary vibe to any that come near it.

Wolf Call Geyser
|
Close to the Sequoia woods territory, a large rise in the soil has broken open into a geyser. Water heated from the rocks and magma below soil from Dragon Volcano lies beneath the surface allowing the hot water to come forward every half hour or so. The water is very hot, and to be touched would most certainly burn the skin of anyone close enough to touch it. Small rivets in the ground bring the water back down to the reservoir below ground, and some trails off into finger like streams. Its not a safe place to wander close to, but it certainly something to see.

Drop Off
|
Not too far below Wolf Call Geyser, a massive opening has formed. It stretched several feet across, and peers down into nothing but darkness. The edges are a smooth dark grey stone with a strange warmth to them. Water from the geyser fall over the edges in minuscule amounts. Eerie calls can be heard coming from the depths, but whatever the sound is, its far too faint to be easily understandable. Many wolves believe that coming here and whispering their dreams, hopes, fears, or other personal things will somehow bring them peace or make them come true. Others see this place only as something to steer clear of and believe it to be haunted.

Red Bog
|
The red bog is a place haunted with stories of immortal demons and a place of agony. It was once a living forest, beautiful and pure, but a curse fell across it as a breathing demon made his home within its purity. With his dark power and jealousy of the life that haunted the forest, he made certain every living thing within it burned, and to this days the trees stand and knot together black and burned. Despite the dark aura that can be felt here, there seems an almost tangible blood red fog that moves with serpent like skill, as if it lived itself. Many fear this place and the beasts believed to haunt the fog. Few creatures, if any, truly wander into the darkness that reaches eagerly out to those that come close.

Tarpit
|
A black, tar like substance stretches across like a large lake would, thick with hot, steamy muk heated by the underground workings of the Dragon Volcano far in the distance. One is cautioned to stay away from these lands being as, if one finds themselves stuck in the pit, it grows increasingly difficult to ever break free from its grasp. Even if one should manage to get out, they would be severely burned. Many have perished there, and their remains are there as testament. However, to those who may get there, there is a reserved island amid the black lake, holding all sorts of rare herbs and flora that are fed by the gases the the bubbling muk expels.

Sequoia Woods
|
The massive terrain of the Simul pack lies within the heart of the Sequoia forest. The trees are a sight to behold, nearly three hundred feet tall or more and reaching twenty five feet around on some of the older trees. The land is flat, and stretches for many miles. It is alive with a variety of natural prey, and an excellent hunting ground. The grass reached up to most wolves chests, but doesn’t restrain their quick steps. The sun has some trouble getting through the thick of the tree tops, but the forest never seems to grow dark during the day. The large trees commonly can be found with dens dug beneath their roots, they are a perfect place to get shelter in bad weather and for nursing mothers.

Amity Meadow
|
Towards the east of the Sequoia Woods, a vast and open meadow stretches for what seems like a lifetime. It’s a wide open space with almost no trees at all, though the sequoia trees are never really far from sight no matter how far you run and no matter in which direction. The meadow is a place you will frequently find a pack whether they are hunting, playing, or simply resting in the heat. A gentle blowing breeze always seems to sweep through the meadow from the west. With such a thriving source of plant life, it attracts many herbivorous herds and small prey animals. It is a prime and safe hunting ground for any pack that dwells here, though its southern borders can lead into more treacherous land, depending on who may have taken over it.

Hopping River
|
Surrounding all of Simul, is a slow moving river, its currents are gentle, and don’t appear to be moving at all. It is almost like glass stretched across the open land, thought it travels across the meadow, and into the heart of the woodlands, making a large and deep lake. The river itself is alive with fish and other such creatures. It makes a very common fishing spot, and a great place to teach pups to swim and to fish. The wolves around Simul have made their own game of the sprouting rocks from the water, leaping from stone to stone. Though considered a child’s game, it builds great skill in balance. The game is also how the river and lake got their name, Hopping.

Mushroom Forest
|
Possibly one of the most unique and different territories of Victus is this massive forest that travels over high rising slopes and valleys. Here, massive mushrooms stand, some larger even than trees, grow thickly packed together. Their bodies a beautiful mix of blues and purples, that seem to glow faintly at all times. Fingers of the river that travels through Victus make their way through this land, feeding the great structures and making this fertile place abundant in herbs and resources many of the healers use. This place is believes to be sacred, many seeing the mushrooms as a sign of the gods powers and beautiful abilities.

Espar Island

High above much of the terrain a Victus, an odd land formation floats with the clouds. A fairly large island hovers about, many times incredibly out of view because of the clouds that surround it. Because of this there are many who believes such a place is simply a rumor. The place is quite real though, a small mountain like range traveling along the back edges of the place, thick green grass growing across the surface of its valley like plains. A pool gathers here in the valley, crystal clear water said to be the purest that any can find. A steep slope at the edges cause a waterfall to vanish over the sides and to become thick and heavy clouds.

Luna Tree
|
A single tree stands by the falls and close to the Lunar Mountain terrain, its height reaching even greater than that of the Sequoia woods in the distance. Its trunk and limbs are not hardly discernible anymore, as it is covered in thick ice that only continues to grow, as if it was lives and not the tree. Many legends are whispered that this is the only place where the Moon Goddess that created the Lux stepped foot in Victus. Each winter, the tree grows five strange blood red fruits. They are small and round, no bigger than a newborn pups head. Each is covered in awkward frozen spikes. Many wolves travel here to gather the fruit, as it is believed that the fruit will either bless or curse the one who devours it.

Cherry Blossom Forest

An ancient forest of Cherry Blossom trees stands peacefully in this massive clearing, their petals littering the ground so the grass is hardly visible. Instead it is a thick almost mattress like feeling no matter where you step. Deep in the center of the forest stands one extremely large and thick tree, a small hollow in its pale trunk. The scent inside is often incredibly sweet, masking many of the scents of those that have wandered through the thick forest. Even in the dead of winter, the trees still bloom and drop their petals. Many stories speak of healing properties from them. It is considered back luck to damage one of the trees.

Deadwood Swamp
|
Thin tall trees grow rather thickly in the dark warm water, the edges and banks covered in long sweeping willow trees. This territory travels along a long ago faded river, its currents lost and now sitting and rotting in the terrain. The water is almost black in color, and feels thick to the touch with all the silk like mud beneath it. It is dangerous for many wolves to travel through, though many have learned their own ways of navigating through the mud. Lilly pad dot the surface thickly, holding pure sources of rain water, and a resting place for the small aquatic amphibians. Just along the borders of the swamp lays a jagged, towering tomb of smokey quartz, forever enveloping the Great Atrox King, Hysteris Greenfire.

Webbed Canopy

Though the swamp travels in a very odd shape surrounding the territory, it does have a small channel that has broken loose into the very center of the terrain. It is here that the largest and oldest willow tree has grown. Truth be told, its simple the result of several trees grown together, twisting and morphing one another into a gnarled staircase. Its only big enough for a single wolf to climb at a time, but it leads out onto the perches of the rest of the trees, and travels across the rest of the tree tops. Willow trees branches wrapped tightly around one another, and holding strong tree limbs in place.

Frostbitten Valley
|
Far from the swamps borders, closer to the west bordering the snowy plains of the Lunar Moutains, a dead and said to be haunted meadow lies. It is dead and barren, the earth cracked and broken open in its lack of moisture. Very few plants struggle to make their way through these openings and seek water out in vain deep in the soil. Not too far out the snow lies lightly, and can even reach the borders of the swamp in winter times. Carrion birds are common to see circling the skies, the smell of death and decay that clings to the lands draws them in.

The Hollow
|
Edging the Darkwood in the southern front is a hollowed out tree trunk. It sits open in the stretching valley, the ancient tree having fallen and been destroyed years ago by forces unknown, leaving behind its remnants. It has long since made its mark upon these lands, the entrance carved into the side of the trunk scraggly and unkempt. Though it is small in size, the entrance, it is big enough for wolves of every size to maneuver inside of it. When one walks inside of it, it expands into a circular opening. It’s fairly empty inside save a few leaves here and there. And then there is the large stone that rests near the back, commonly used as a podium for those gathered.

Darkwood
|
Trees grow high and thickly packed together, their branches near barren with very few patches of leaves upon them. Even with their naked limbs, the forest always seems to stay incredibly dark and quite still despite the occasional breeze that sweeps within it. The grass, too, seems to grow rather thickly and goes far above the heads of the wolves that travel within its patches. It is here where the most lost and most desolate of spirits wander. They are vagabonds that serve only as ethereal apparitions and stalk the shadows with their crazed beasts and monstrous creatures as company. They feed on the strongest energy that they can find in the forest’s depths whether it be on the immortal or the mortal wolves.

The Aurora

Between these hallowed grounds and the seemingly very contrasting rest of the world of Victus lies a strange and wonderful space of galactic marvel. Luminous colors dance across a lush marshland, mirror-like pools covering the ground in various places. They reflect the glittering skies above, awash in brilliant colors. This is a place cast into eternal night, where the stars and the nebulas of the universe sparkle overhead. The soft sand and deep waters that wash from her shores are an inky black, thicker than most of the bodies of water that can be found in other areas of Victus. Some find it hard to tell where the skies begin and the lands end.

Wounded Shore

A bed of treacherous rocks law strewn dangerously over a large span of this stretch of land off in the distance of the blackened shores of the Aurora. These jagged boulders do not allow much sight to be cast around successfully, obstructing even the best of eyesight and rendering the gaze near useless unless you stand in the right spot or use magic to aid you. Despite this, it is a rather good space to hide if one so chooses to do so. The ground is dry and cracked where these mysterious colossi reside. The gray, ashy ground is intriguing and has an allure many find it hard to resist. It covers ones tracks, and seems to serve as stepping stones leading up to the menacing and ominous caves that lay gaping on the face of the large mountain.

Valken's Tomb

Don’t let its morbid name fool you. Though the entrance looks menacing, these vast and stretching caverns that lead deep within the earth are rather a breathtaking and brilliant sight to behold. A strange, alien world compensates for the utter darkness by creating its own magnificent light. Nearly all of the plants and algae down within these depths glow in an array of strange, eerie hues. The algae riddle the walls in phosphorescent speckles, imitating a glorious night sky. These cold, damp caverns are surprisingly welcome, despite their mysterious construction. Many are drawn to these tomb-like structures because they are isolated and provide great cover.

Sorrow Falls

The mountains seem to be weeping constantly, their sorrowful, ethereal tears pouring out into a vast waterfall. This waterfall crashes violently down into the large pool at the base. A thick, odd mist clings to the surface of the crystalline waters, ever present and never seeming to fade as they guard the one water source in this branded area that is pure. Large rocks surround the pond like barriers, allowing only one entrance and one exit by where the stream trickles down from this body of water. The water spills across the stream down into the Aurora, becoming instantly tainted by whatever darkness permeates the air, dying it with the Aurora’s constant oil-like colors that seem to reflect the permanent night sky.

This particular cavern gapes like a great, eager beast’s mouth, carved into the mountain of the falls. When one travels past they claim to feel dozens of eyes piercing through their body, daring them with coaxing glares to come and see what is so boldly and openly stalking them with their wicked gaze. An eerie green glow comes from its source from within, and it is reported that tendrils of this mysterious glow reach from the darkness and attempt to gather any life sources it can from nearby. Shamans are commonly found traversing into the crypt to carry out their rituals and connect with the lost spirits. Often times these spirits talk and can provide information if you connect with the right one. If it is a darker entity you find, then you better play your hand well otherwise your soul could be tainted.

The infamous spot where the ritual grounds of Victus extend out into a desert like terrain, growing more and more dead. The dead can be felt through the very rust-colored earth of this place. Scraggly dunes of rock, dust, and sand shield this place from light. Various bones of the dead wolves can be found half-buried or completely exposed here. It is as if it is a mass burial for the useless skeletons of those wolves that became lost in the depths and harshness of this place. The only plants that grow here are a few stray cacti that seem to house strange creatures that are unidentifiable to any known beast.

There are no places to hide, and it is often used as a resting place for loners or for young mothers. Puppies are often brought to the shore here to learn to breathe oxygen from above the water instead of below it should they ever travel to another realm or need the skill. Hunting is often taught to youngsters here, as the pretty fish tend to be quite small and there is not much worry about a puppy getting too far away from its mother or to a place where she can’t see it.

Massive and tall vines of seaweed grow so thickly together here, and so tall, it is near impossible to swim a straight line through it. Light seems able to find its way easily through most of the thicket, appearing quite peaceful for the most part. But there are legends that speak of horrible demons that reside within the forest. It is a lonely place, very little life is ever found wondering remotely close to its edges, and often is a place where the bodies of the deceased are sent. Kisetsumori

This sparkling, mossy Japanese forest with cascading waterfalls at the heart of it is positioned directly beside the waters of Imbrium beside the Cave Portal. These waterfalls freeze in the winter and form a cluster of ice that spurts up out of the ground like crashing waves. During the winter and ONLY the winter, creatures emerge from their slumber. These creatures are known as Qinu Mora, and may only be tamed during the winter season on this one board. It is said to hunt these creatures and take their antlers/masks as a sign of good luck and blessing. If someone dies during the hunt it's considered bad taboo and horrible luck for the whole year until next hunt. This area will also be considered the place where the Stilla came to be and Undavarie took his first great steps to creating a separate world from Victus to keep his people "protected". On this land, ONLY a wolf of Undavarie blood will be able to see glowing writing on the ice during winter which describes the ritual of how Stilla came into existence.
